Working with what stays
Use the roof area as part of the palette
The workshop example has a broad metal roof, a long dormer and two wood garage doors. Those features take up much of the image. Compare the siding in their presence instead of treating it as an isolated swatch.
Consider the wood and stone together
A natural wood garage door and a stone foundation create additional fixed colors. Try warm white trim with a muted body first, then compare a darker body without changing the wood finish at the same time.
