Working with what stays
Use two fixed references
A palette can relate well to the brick but feel disconnected from the roof. Compare the roof edge and the brick-to-siding boundary together, including mortar and any existing dark window frames.
Compare the size of the painted area
A small upper-floor siding section needs a different balance from a mostly sided house with a brick base. Keep the full elevation visible and avoid choosing from the brick alone.
