Read the wall planes together
Without a large pitched roof in view, the wall color carries more of the visible scheme. Compare the front volumes together instead of isolating one small return beside the door.
Use the recess as the contrast test
The entry is deeply shaded while the parapets and front walls receive daylight. Compare the same proposed color across both conditions before adding a darker painted surround.
