Exterior paint colors with black windows

Compare a warm light wall, a muted mid-tone and a darker body around black-looking frames. Light walls make the window outline more pronounced; a deeper body can reduce that contrast. Choose the effect you want before adding another trim color.

Color guide

Compare Nacre siding with Urbane Bronze trim while preserving window frame finish, roof, stone. This provides warm off-white with a deeper bronze trim for the shortlist.

Working with what stays

Distinguish frames from surrounding trim

The Mediterranean example has arched dark glazing with little separate casing, while the stone cottage surrounds dark windows with masonry. A painted wood surround creates a different decision. Do not assume the frame finish itself is part of the repaint.

Check daylight examples first

The charcoal cottage is useful for form, but its dusk lighting is a poor sole reference for subtle wall-color decisions. Use the daylight arched-window example as the main comparison and label the dusk view as supporting inspiration.
